What should a primary care physician do if a parent wants a son or daughter tested for cocaine use or if a patient asks for help with addiction? The authors describe their experience with a rapid, inexpensive, and easy-to-use procedure for measuring the concentration of cocaine metabolites in the urine. Results can help the physician decide the extent of use and measure the progress of treatment.
