How to prevent them—and intervene should prevention fail

Decubitus ulcers are an unnecessary source of added misery for patients who are already seriously debilitated. Although preventable, these ulcers remain an all-too-common and costly problem. In this article, Ors Shenaq and Dinh stress simple preventive measures. They also recommend a therapeutic approach based on the grade of ulcer present.
