Sinusitis

Its association with asthma

Sinusitis usually begins as a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, which leads to sinus obstruction and, finally, bacterial infection. Several methods are available for both diagnosis and treatment of the condition, as discussed by the authors. What is not clear is the link between sinusitis and asthma. The authors describe proposed mechanisms at work in this relationship.
