Although convenient and time-saving, air travel poses health hazards that are not a consideration with other, less rapid modes of transportation. Dr Wooldridge discusses the effects of air travel on persons with conditions such as heart or respiratory disease, anemia, and diabetes and recommends safeguards to be taken before and during a flight.
