As many as 50% of patients with epilepsy do not consistently comply with prescribed treatment. Such widespread noncompliance affects healthcare costs and has serious consequences for patients and others around them. In this article, Dr Leppik discusses the nature of noncompliant behavior and suggests strategies for improving compliance.
