Because of its nonspecific nature, dizziness can be a diagnostic challenge. In most cases, however, primary care physicians can decipher the symptom and determine the cause with information obtained from the patient history and physical examination. Dr Edmeads discusses various causes of dizziness—both benign and dangerous—and offers a logical, stepwise approach to the dizzy patient.
