Treating serum lipid abnormalities in high-priority patients

Studies done within the last 10 years have shown that atherosclerosis can be stabilized or reversed and that formation of new lesions can be reduced by control of serum lipid levels. These findings are of critical importance for patients with coronary artery disease. The authors describe dietary and pharmacologic methods to achieve treatment goals in high-risk patients.
