Do all blistering diseases look alike? Is there any way primary care physicians can narrow the differential diagnosis quickly? Drs Goldberg and Bronson describe several factors, such as the patient's age and the distribution of lesions, that help to simplify identification of these troublesome lesions. Nikolsky's sign, one of the few aids to diagnosis, is also described.
