Traumatic injury to the vulva can be mild or serious. The blood supply is generous and perineal veins are valveless, so massive hematomas may result. In the worst cases, perforations into the peritoneal cavity, intestines, and bladder may be fatal. However, most cases can be managed conservatively. The authors discuss evaluation and appropriate treatment of these injuries.
