Salicylate poisoning from aspirin overdose may result from accidental ingestion, suicide attempts, or complications of long- term aspirin therapy. When enteric-coated aspirin is involved, absorption may be delayed and the level of intoxication may not be readily apparent. The authors describe a case of poisoning with enteric-coated aspirin and discuss the special concerns and considerations in managing such cases.
