Myocardial rupture

Your patient's survival may depend on you

For several days after myocardial infarction, patients are at risk for sudden ischemia in the area where circulation was interrupted. The consequences are often fatal. The authors describe two patients who survived myocardial rupture. Their presentations demonstrate acute and subacute rupture, and their courses of in-hospital deterioration underscore the importance of early diagnosis and prompt intervention.
