Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are common joint diseases in the elderly. Distinguishing between them can be difficult, because symptoms may overlap. There are, however, characteristic clinical and radiographic features that may help establish the diagnosis. Drs Marino and McDonald discuss these features and an approach to management.
