When are they caused by hormone imbalance?

Sometimes, a complaint that logically may seem to be due to trauma, strain, or orthopedic abnormality is the result of endocrine factors instead. For example, aching muscles are characteristic of glucocorticoid insufficiency, and carpal tunnel syndrome often accompanies pregnancy. The authors describe eight types of hormone imbalance and musculoskeletal signs and symptoms that may be found in each.
