An autoimmune mechanism is now the most common cause of primary adrenocortical insufficiency, or Addison's disease. However, tuberculosis remains an important cause and must not be overlooked in the patient workup. In this article, Dr Johnson describes a case of tuberculous Addison's disease confirmed by radiographic studies and laboratory tests.
