Prevention of recurrent ischemic stroke

A crucial task for physicians of patients who have had a transient ischemic attack or stroke is to prevent progression or recurrence of the event. Although these patients are at great risk for recurrence, new evidence indicates that prophylactic therapy can greatly reduce this risk. Dr Koller outlines recent research and presents practical information on prevention of several types of recurrent stroke.
