Physicians hearing the familiar phrase “Doc, I've got sinus” may be tempted to answer “So does the rest of the world.” Sinusitis is one of the most common problems seen by physicians in the United States. Sometimes, however, what patients describe as “sinus” is, in fact, another disorder. Dr Oppenheimer describes the sinusitis cycle in adults and discusses diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic forms of the disease.
