Why has treatment of adrenal insufficiency, or Addison's disease, changed so little in the past 30 years? How can modern adrenal function studies facilitate diagnosis and management? Dr Stoffer explains his practical approach to diagnosis and treatment of chronic adrenal insufficiency. As clinicians become more comfortable with the use of adrenal function studies to monitor this disease, their patients' quality of life can be expected to improve markedly.
