Although symptoms and signs of aortic stenosis may not appear until a patient is well into adulthood, the onset of angina pectoris, syncope, and cardiac failure may herald rapid decline and death. Surgery for both children and adults is discussed, as is proper management of pregnancy in women with aortic stenosis.
