Kaposi's sarcoma, which is a common clinical manifestation of AIDS, can mimic many other dermatologic conditions. In this article, the authors describe a case in which cellulitis was initially suspected in a patient infected with human immunodeficiency virus. Examination of biopsy specimens showed infiltrating Kaposi's sarcoma. The authors also discuss important points in the detection and treatment of Kaposi's sarcoma.
