Few primary care physicians may have encountered facial trichilemmomas, Gottron's papules, or erythema chronicum migrans in their practice. However, recognition of these skin lesions can be the key to diagnosis of underlying systemic diseases. Drs Holmes and Massa review the diagnostic features of several systemic conditions that have prominent skin signs.
