Preview

How strong is evidence that antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and beta carotene prevent atherosclerosis? What effect do smoking, hypertension, and diabetes have on LDL cholesterol? Should we all be eating a “Mediterranean” diet? The authors examine the answers to these questions and make recommendations on the basis of current knowledge.
