With most drugs, the risk of an allergic reaction is small, but not insignificant. What factors increase the risk? Do certain groups of patients have inherent risk factors for particular reactions? What should clinicians keep in mind about reactions to penicillins? sulfonamides? aspirin and NSAIDs? Dr Bernstein answers these and other questions and provides an algorithm for managing the care of patients with a history of drug allergy.
