Efficiency and effectiveness in the urgent care clinic

The term “urgent care clinic” implies that significant, acute problems are addressed at these facilities, and sometimes they are. But more often, “urgent care” patients present with minor, self-limiting, or chronic illness, sometimes because they have no other source of medical care. Dr Wong reviews potential pitfalls encountered in urgent care clinics and furnishes practical advice for providing appropriate care to all patients in the limited time available in this setting.
