Curricular Change in British Medical Schools

Pages 272-276 | Published online: 30 Jul 2010

Abstract

Medical schools in Britain, as elsewhere in the world, have recently introduced extensive curricular changes. Attention is drawn in this paper to the differences between the medical curriculum and other university courses. These differences lead to greater difficulties in effecting change, and the subject is dealt with under the general headings of need, mechanism, difficulties, nature, effects and evaluation.
