Abstract
INACAP is the Instituto Nacional de Capacitación Profesional (National Institute for Vocational Training) of Chile and the name of one of its departments — SINCAD — stands for ‘Sistema Nacional de Capacitación a Distancia’ (National System of Distance Training). SINCAD represents a rather long‐term effort at systems approach application, whose main characteristics this article tries to describe within the context of the role of vocational training in Latin America.
