Computer‐Based Training: A Case for Creative Skills within Development Teams

Pages 219-223 | Published online: 09 Jul 2006

Abstract

Until recently the major part of published work on computer‐based development in the UK has concentrated on authoring systems, costs and appropriate applications. Even papers which deal with development techniques focus on the mechanics of construction e.g. flowcharting and programming. Very little has been said about the creative aspects of courseware development, yet this is critical to the effectiveness of the completed product. This paper looks at the approach adopted by the Cranfield Education Technology Unit and argues the case for a greater emphasis on creative skills within development teams.
