Retórica e eloguencia: The evolution of rhetorical thought in eighteenth century Spain

The Enlightenment inspired among the Spanish fundamental revisions in rhetorical theory. Restatements of classical dogma, prevalent in the early eighteenth century, gradually diminished and were replaced by a stylistic, belletristic, and ultimately modern conception of rhetoric.
