Toward a grounded typology of organizational leadership behavior

This study proposes a grounded typology of organizational leadership behavior. Through naturalistic observation, four major patterns of leadership are identified: positional, political, administrative, and relational. After these patterns are delineated, the ways in which the patterns develop and change over time are explored.
