Stopping powers of Ti, Mn, Ni and Zn for 0.5-2.0 meV 4He ions relative to those of Ai and Cu

Pages 223-227 | Received 31 Jan 1978, Published online: 13 Sep 2006

Abstract

The stopping powers of Ti, Mn, Ni and Zn for 41-le ions in the energy region 0.5-2.0 MeV have been measured by the elastic backscattering technique. The thick target scattering yields have been employed in the calculation of stopping powers relative to those of Al and Cu as reference materials. The experimental accuracy of the measured values estimated to vary from 2.6% at the highest energy to 3.9% at the lowest energy. The results obtained are compared with other experimental stopping power values for these elements.
