Abstract

Results of luminescent experiments done on KX:M2+ (X=C1, Br or I and M2+ = Ge2+, Sn2+ or Pb2+) are presented. Tentative assignments for KBr:Ge2+ A1 and A2 emission bands are given. Polarization measurements show the charge compensating vacancy in KX:Sn2+ to be next nearest neighbor. Details of the decay kinetics of KX:Pb2+ are discussed.
