SIR DAVID GILL (1843–1914)

SUMMARY

In commemoration of the sesquicentenary of the birth of Sir David Gill an assessment is given of his contributions to astronomy. Gill was in charge of the Royal Observatory at the Cape of Good Hope from 1879 to 1906.
