THE FINDINGS OF A CENTRAL KALAHARI BIRD EXPEDITION, FEBRUARY 1987

SUMMARY

A survey on the status of birds was carried out in February 1987 in the Deception Valley and Okwa Valley fossil riverbeds in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana. Of 119 bird species identified. insectivorous species were the most numerous (72) followed by insectivores/herbivores (17), raptors (18), granivores (8), omnivores (5), frugivores (2) and nectivores (2).
