Dune systems of the Namib Desert – a spatial and temporal perspective

 

Abstract

Aeolian processes have operated in the Namib Desert for much of the past 15 Ma in apparently similar boundary conditions of wind regime and sediment supply, leading to accumulation of dune fields and sand seas, the extent and characteristics of which reflect regional variations in accommodation space, wind regime and sediment supply.
