Abstract
Cell wall preparations of 17 species of yeasts were examined for the presence of amino acids and sugars. There were no distinct patterns of amino acids in the yeasts investigated, although 2 patterns of sugar components were found. Cell wall agglutination tests with an antiserum prepared against cell walls of Candida albicans reacted against 14 cell wall preparations; the sugar components of all of these were glucose and mannose.
Résumé
Des préparations de parois cellulaires de 17 espèces de levures ont été examinées pour y étudier les acides aminés et sucres présents. Il n'y a pas de groupements distincts d'acides aminés dans les levures étudiées mais on a trouvé deux types de constituants carbonés. Des réactions d'agglutination des parois cellulaires contre un anti sérum préparé contre des parois cellulaires de Candida albicans ont été positives pour 14 préparations; les sucres rencontrées dans ces dernières sont le glucose et le mannose.
