Cerebral mycetoma of trout due to a Phialophora-like fungus

Abstract

Three separate epidemics of cerebral mycetoma occurred in fingerling trout at an Alberta hatchery. The same fungus was isolated each time and it is described as a new genus and species Exophiala salmonis.

Résumé

Trois épidémies distinctes de la mycétome cerebrale ont eu lieu chez les truites prématurées à une couvée de poisson en Alberta. La même champignon a été isolée en chaque occasion et on la décrit comme un genre nouveau et une espèce nouvelle, Exophiala salmonis.
