Tiña por Microsporum canis en niños menores de treinta dias

Summary

Six cases of ringworm due to Microsporum canis are reported in infants no more than 30 days old. The infections came from cats. The patients responded to therapy with griseofulvin and tolnaftate, miconazole or iodine.

Abstract

Se informa de seis casos de tiña debida a Microsporum canis en niños recien nacidos, menores de 30 días, en Valdivia, Chile. La infección proviene principalmente de gatos. Cuatro de los niños respondieron bien al tratamiento con griseofulvina, griseofulvina-tolnaftato, como también uno con miconazol y el otro con tintura de yodo.
