Some observations on saccorhiza polyschides (lightf.) batt. (phaeophyceae)

Pages 11-13 | Received 20 Mar 1962, Published online: 21 Dec 2011

Abstract

Saccorhiza polyschides has been observed at intervals on the western coast of Norway between Stavanger and the area outside the Trondheimsfjord (Printz, 1926, Wennberg, 1950, and others, see references and Fig. 1). It also occurs further north, having been recorded at Sör-Helgeland about 65° N. (Fig. 1), which is believed to be near the northern boundary of this alga (Grenager, 1955, p. 29).
