In connection with another investigation, I have been able to make some observations of the ciliate fauna in the surroundings of the Biological Station, Espegrend. Most of the samples have been collected from rockpools on small islands in the neighbourhood of the station. A few samples come from a brook in the station area and still fewer from rain-wet moss growing on a hill in the vicinity of the laboratory.
