Abstract
Paeonocanthus antarcticensis is described from a single specimen on Bathylagus euryops. This specimen showed prominent first and second maxillae and maxillipeds, structures not previously reported for the species. Its morphological variability and similarity to other previously described specimens of the species is discussed.
