Abstract
The properties of two fibrinogen preparations and bovine plasmas and their use as material for standard clot in the determination of the proactivator activity of human plasma with the standard clot lysis time were compared. It was found that fibrinogen preparations behaved in principle in the same manner although quantitative differences occurred.
Bovine plasma proved suitable for these determinations. In view of its low price, good stability, easy availability and treatment it is suitable for routine use.
The use of bovine plasma in proactivator activity determinations is described in outline.
