Abstract

A method is described to detect heterozygotes for phenylpyruvic oligophrenia. It is based on the determination of blood phenylpyruvic acid 2, 4 and 6 hours after administration of a dose of phenylalanine. The curve for the heterozygotes is appreciably higher than that for the control group.
