Abstract
An ‘all in the same tube’ procedure requiring disposable materials only and involving sequential resin dialysis and ultrafiltration for simultaneous determination of the free thyroxine and triiodothyronine fractions in serum is described. The method combines a 104-fold decontamination of labelled inorganic iodide with a negligible loss of labelled hormones. The results are independent of duration of ultrafiltration and of dilution of serum with its own ultrafiltrate.
