Abstract

After oral administration to germfree rats of cholyl-glycine-1-14C, deoxycholylglycine-1-14C and nor-ursocholyl-glycine-1-14C no significant amounts of 14CO2 are expired. This indicates that these bile salts are not significantly deamidated under physiological conditions in the rat organism outside the gastro-intestinal tract.
