Abstract
Background: The kinetics and role of urinary trypsin inhibitor (UTI) in liver surgery are unclear. We investigated the effects of preoperative liver function and the extent of liver resection on postoperative UTI synthesis in the liver after partial hepatectomy. Methods: Sixty-one consecutive patients who underwent liver resection were the subjects of the study. Plasma and urine UTI, plasma C reactive protein (CRP) and plasma and urine creatinine were measured perioperatively. Results:
