Abstract

Norlén, B. J., Krause, U. & Bergman. L. 1970. An Epidemiological Study of Crohn’s Disease. Scand. J. Gastroent. 5, 385-390.

An epidemiological study of Crohn’s disease, comprising the population in two counties in central Sweden, is presented. The basic population was about 412,000. The investigation covered a 12-year period from 1956 — 1967. A mean incidence of 2.5/100,(XX) was found, 2.6 for men and 2.4 for women. The incidence during the second 6-year period was twice that during the first. The increase in incidence could be attributed largely to an increase in the age groups 15 — 29 years.
