Abstract

Fenger, H. J., Peitersen, E., Osterhammel, D., Gudmand-Höyer, E. & Christiansen, J. 1970. Vestibular Reactions during Dumping Provocation. Scand. J. Gastroent. 5, 443-447.

In 7 patients with the severe dumping syndrome and in 7 healthy patients after gastric surgery a caloric test with electronystagmography was carried out before and during dumping provocation with glucose and with apomorphine, respectively. During dumping provocation a massive, reproducible inhibition of nystagmus may be registered. Injection of apomorphinc produces the same changes as administration of glucose, clinically, experimentally, and with regard to nystagmus.
