Brown, J. C. & Pederson, R. A. 1970. A Multiparameter Study on the Action of Preparations Containing Cholecystokinin-Pancreozymin. Scand. J. Gastroent. 5, 537-541.
Two preparations containing cholecystokinin-pancreozymin (CCK-PZ) with approximately 200 and 1,500 Ivy dog units (I.D.U.)/mg were studied in dogs. A submaximal dose for gall-bladder contraction, 0.2 I.D.U./kg-min was employed. Gall-bladder and antral motor activity responses to both preparations were identical. The purer preparation stimulated pepsin secretion and was a more potent stimulant for H+ secretion. CCK-PZ will stimulate antral motor activity. The more potent effect of the purer material on II secretion was probably caused by the removal of inhibitor substances in the further purification of CCK-PZ.
