Abstract

Kronborg, O. 1970. Methods and Results of Repeated Insulin Tests in Patients with Duodenal Ulcer. Scand. J. Gastroent. 5, 577-583.

A method used in performing some 1,000 insulin tests in patients with duodenal ulcer before and after truncal vagotomy and drainage operation is described. Different methods of calculating and expressing the results are shown, and the reproducibility of the test is investigated in patients with intact vagal nerves. Complications and variations of method are discussed. The augmented histamine test, performed in the same patients, is shortly described.
