Abstract

Göransson, G., Nordén, Å. & Äkesson, B. 1973. Low Plasma Tocopherol Levels in Patients with Gastrointestinal Disorders. Scand. J. Gastroent. 8, 21-25.

Diagnoses and some laboratory data of 29 patients with low plasma tocopherol levels are reported. Most patients had malabsorption and/or liver diseases. The different mechanisms leading to low plasma tocopherol levels are discussed. Substitution therapy with tocopherol (vitamin E) must be considered in selected cases.
