This paper reports on a 61-year-old man and his 30-year-old daughter, who both have chronic relapsing pancreatitis. A 10-year-old daughter of the woman has had repeated attacks of epigastric pains during the past year. The character of the pains is compatible with pancreatitis. In the absence of well-known aetiologic factors, the disease is considered idiopathic and probably of the hereditary type in all subjects. The three patients showed hyperglycinuria and hyperlysinuria, which were not encountered in the healthy members of the family studied. A conceivable association between aminoaciduria and hereditary pancreatitis is discussed.
